Our community is so grateful to the decades of faithful service that has been provided by the Knowles family. Melzie Knowles opened the Western Auto store in the 1940's. It was passed on to his son and daughter-in-law, Gail and Peggy Knowles. Their son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Barbara Knowles have continued the tradition while changing the name to Knowles True Value a few years ago. One thing that hasn't changed is excellent customer service, superior knowledge, and helpful information that made doing business with them easy and fun. Rick and Barbara are retiring and the business is passing to another young family in our community. Trenton Hatman and Logan Barnes, who incidentally married sisters (Eliza and Rylie Bevill), will continue to offer old fashioned values and customer service that has been the hallmark of the Knowles' family hardware business since the beginning. During the transition, Rick and Barbara will be on hand to help them get settled in.
