This place also has a wonderful local artisan gift shop. I bought several Christmas gifts from here last year and they were very well received. There's leather, pottery, quilts, woodwork, jewelry, clothing, something for everyone. The museum is also of interest.

This is a really great museum for such a small town, and I highly recommend a visit here to learn all about the history of this interesting Ozark Mountains community. The volunteers who run it are just the friendliest folks you'll ever meet, and eager to share their knowledge of Calico Rock and the surrounding area. Great for all ages.

The museum was fantastic! My favorite part was the tribute to the Veterans! A very moving video with the names of local people who have served, and then the song about the angel flight brought me to tears! Nicely done!

This museum has a helpful and knowledgeable staff and the displays will take you to a different era that was experienced by many. "American rural" is still alive in many baby boomer memories. They are moving across the street and it will be even better.
